<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector which can accurately detect the existence of an object to be detected regardless of the inclination of the object. <P>SOLUTION: A detector includes a limited reflection type photoelectric sensor 1. The limited reflection type photoelectric sensor 1 includes a light projecting part 8 whose light irradiation area is limited to a reflective object, and a light receiving part 9 which receives the light irradiated from the light projecting part 8 and reflected by the reflective object.
