<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pitch angle estimating device by which a pitch angle is estimated only by a signal from a vehicle speed sensor without using a dedicated sensor such as a tilting angle sensor, when the pitch angle of a body of a motorcycle is calculated. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes: a vehicle speed detecting means 1 for detecting a vehicle speed of the motorcycle; a differential term calculation means 2 for determining a first order differential term dv/dt and a second order differential term d<SP POS="POST">2</SP>v/dt<SP POS="POST">2</SP>on the basis of the vehicle speed v detected by the vehicle speed detecting means; and a pitch angle calculation means 3 for calculating the pitch angle θby calculating the pitch angle θ=Adv/dt+Bd<SP POS="POST">2</SP>v/dt<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, where A and B are coefficients on the basis of the first order differential term dv/dt and the second order differential d<SP POS="POST">2</SP>V/dt<SP POS="POST">2</SP>detected by the differential term calculation means 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
