<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine immediately whether or not an inserted battery is a secondary battery, without requiring any processing of the secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: A battery can be inserted into a power supply unit 107, and the output power from the battery thus inserted can be supplied. A solar cell 108 charges a battery inserted into the power supply unit 107. A CPU 101 detects the voltage value of the battery thus inserted, and determines that the battery inserted into the power supply unit 107 is a secondary battery if the voltage value thus detected is equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold, otherwise determines that the battery inserted into the power supply unit 107 is a primary battery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
