PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rinse accelerator, for achieving a good foaming feeling of use on cleaning and good foam breaking on rinsing, for a hard surface detergent containing a betaine-type amphoteric surfactant and not containing a soap.

SOLUTION: The rinse accelerator for a hard surface detergent containing a betaine-type amphoteric surfactant and not containing a soap is a compound comprising a quaternary ammonium salt. Preferably, the compound comprising a quaternary ammonium salt is a gemini-type quaternary ammonium salt and/or a cationic polymer containing a quaternary ammonium.
