摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for storing power generated by a thermoelectric transducer using waste heat of a fusing device, capable of further enhancing an effective use rate of the waste heat, while preventing a heat generation efficiency of the fusing device from being decreased. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a fusing device 5 having a heating roller 51 and a pressure roller 52, a frame 53 supporting both of the rollers and constituting an outer frame of the fusing device 5, a thermoelectric transducer 80 movably arranged within the frame 53 and generating electric power using heat of the heating roller 51, a secondary cell for storing the generated electric power, an exhauster 90 for cooling a low temperature side of the thermoelectric transducer 80 within the frame 53, a movement mechanism 100 for moving the thermoelectric transducer 80 and thereby reciprocating a high temperature side end part thereof between a first position and a second portion whose distance from the heating roller 51 is larger from that of the first position, and a control part 60 for controlling the movement mechanism 100 and moving the end part of the high temperature side to the second position when the fuser operates and to the first position when the fuser does not operate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
