<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress generation of air-entraining vortex in a vertical shaft pump. <P>SOLUTION: A water level sensor 101 detecting a water level in a suction tank 5 is provided. When the water level detected by the water level sensor 101 is below a predetermined water level, a control device 26 opens a switch valve 19 of a vertical pipe 18 branched from the upper end of a casing 3 of the vertical shaft pump 1, and jets a water stream toward the bottom of the suction tank 5 from a nozzle 21 arranged in an annular pipe 20 of the lower end of the vertical pipe 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
