<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveguide multiplexer capable of keeping an optical loss low even when wavelength shift (temperature drift) of a laser diode results from temperature change. <P>SOLUTION: A waveguide multiplexer 20 uses waveguides 50 and 52 constituting a Mach-Zehnder interferometer 20b to multiplex optical signals with different wavelengths λ<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and λ<SB POS="POST">3</SB>. When focusing attention on a first port 200a corresponding to one wavelength λ<SB POS="POST">1</SB>, it is found that a transmission center wavelength of the waveguide multiplexer 20 changes according to a refractive index of a material. Therefore, when a material with a refractive index changing in response to changes in temperature conditions is selected preliminarily, it is possible to follow and change the transmission center wavelength of the waveguide multiplexer 20 even if temperature drift occurs in an oscillation wavelength of a laser diode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
