In the present invention, there is disclosed a process for preparing and burning bales of straw in a boiler for burning biomass for energetic purposes, said process comprising the following steps of: supplying a bale (1) of straw onto a charging line for automatically weighing and measuring thereof, further transferring the bale (1) of straw for further processing into a severing mechanism (6) where it is severed and based on the ascertained values of the weighing and measuring device (3, 4), the severed parts of the bale (1) of straw (1) are then fed by a feeding piston (7) into a combustion chamber (21) for burning. A device for implementing the above-described method for preparing and burning bales (1) of straw in a boiler for burning biomass for energetic purposes comprises a charging line with a horizontal conveyor (2) provided with a weighing and measuring device (3, 4), a tipping conveyor (5), a bale (1) of straw severing mechanism (6), a feeding piston (7), and a follow-up combustion chamber (21) with a skew traveling grate (11), where burning of the treated bale (1) of straw takes place.
