PURPOSE: A portable terminal capable of supporting a positioning function and a position transmission function is provided to identify the position and the moving direction of the terminal by using a satellite and transmit the recognized information. CONSTITUTION: A gyroscope sensor module(30) recognizes the exact moving direction in a stationary state or during a low speed movement. The gyroscope sensor module displays the recognized moving direction on a screen. If a portable terminal is lost or leaves the location or the moving direction of the terminal such as specific latitude or longitude, an encryption module protects or eliminates data stored inside the portable terminal automatically or by remote control. According to the power-on state of the portable terminal or user selection, a self-diagnosis module performs diagnosis about more than one of the following; a GPS receiving module, the gyroscope sensor module, a self-location display camera module and the encryption module.
