The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for measuring the interstitial pressure in a saturated ground. This appliance is characterised in that the measurement probe 1 is fixed to the lower end of a string of rods, below an inflatable stopper 2 and it includes a protection skirt 25 surrounding the measurement probe 1 and fixed to the lower end of an inflatable sleeve 23 of the stopper 2, solely the upper end 23a of which is fixed to the string of rods so that inflation of the sleeve 23 of the stopper 2 is manifested by a movement of the protection skirt 25 upwards, once the measurement probe 1 is in place, in order to discover the filtering assembly 6 of this measurement probe 1. <IMAGE>
