<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bimorph optical device provided with a deformable optical element and an active element made of piezoelectric ceramic having electrodes, in which the elements are conversely controlled in pair such that compression movement is generated relating to a set of first elements and extension movement is generated relating to a set of second elements. <P>SOLUTION: In a bimorph optical device, an optical element 1 comprises a first main surface 6 of optical activity and a second main surface 7 facing the first main surface at least along with first and second side faces 2, 3 facing each other, a ceramic active element comprises at least two sets of piezoelectric ceramic rods (21, 22; 31, 32) facing each other on the first and second side faces, and each set includes two rods (21, 22; 31, 32) arranged on one of the first and second side faces on any side of a center surface which forms a neutral axis of the optical element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
