<p>[Problem] To use a disk valve as a damping valve in a damper for railway vehicles whilst retaining reliability and durability. [Solution] A piston (13), which is linked to a piston rod (14) so as to communicate therewith, is inserted into a cylinder (12) in which oil has been sealed. An extension-side damping valve (25) that has a disk valve is provided to an extension-side passage (22), and a compression-side damping valve (26) that has a disk valve is provided to a compression-side passage (23). A poppet-type failure valve (27) is provided to a failure passage (24), and the flow path of the oil is switched by a failure switching valve (28) and a failure on-off valve (29). Generally, a current is applied to the failure switching valve (28) and the failure on-off valve (29), and damping force is generated by the extension-side damping valve (25) and the compression-side damping valve (26), each having a disk valve with excellent responsiveness, and the damping force is adjusted by a control current. In the event of a failure, electrification is stopped and the highly robust failure valve (27) ensures that a prescribed damping force is generated.</p> |
