<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair with an armrest rotatable up and down, which is light-weight and simple in structure, allows the armrest to smoothly rotate, and prevents the armrest from falling down from a vertical position. <P>SOLUTION: The chair includes the armrest 50 having a rod-like building member 53 outlying right and left, a supporting member 55 on which a slide groove 56 to guide the movement of the rod-like building member 53 is formed, and an elastic piece 80 that is elastically deformable. The elastic piece 80 holds the rod-like building member 53 with an upper end 82a when the armrest 50 is on the vertical position.
