<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron beam irradiation device that reduces influence of radiation on an operator during maintenance, and also suppresses an increase in area of a room where a moderator is installed, and a maintenance method for the neutron beam irradiation device. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a neutron beam irradiation device 1 which irradiates an irradiation object in an irradiation room Rm with a neutron beam, and includes a cyclotron 2 which accelerates charged particles to emit a charged particle beam P, a target 3 which is irradiated with the charged particle beam P to generate a neutron beam N, a vacuum duct 4 which connects the cyclotron 2 and target 3 to each other, and a moderator 5 which decelerates the neutron beam N generated by the target 3, the target 3 being movable away from the moderator 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
