Provided is a production method with which it is possible to efficiently produce an alkyldiol monoglycidyl ether without requiring a complex purification step. The method for producing an alkyldiol monoglycidyl ether is characterized in comprising a step wherein a vinyl ether-containing alcohol is reacted with an epihalohydrin to obtain a vinyl ether-containing glycidyl ether, devinylation is performed in the presence of an acidic catalyst and water, and then an acidic aqueous solution is added and acetal decomposition is performed.
