Filling material for a ground-coupled heat exchanger and underground cable, comprises at least three materials, where the first material is a base material, preferably cement and/or bentonite, the second material has a thermal conductivity of less than 1 W/mK, and the third material is a displacer, which is impermeable to the second material. Independent claims are included for producing the filling material comprising combining the base material and the displacer, preferably infiltrating the base material into the displacer and producing a composite with the second material, which is a heat-conducting particle, or combining the second material, which is the heat-conducting particle, and the displacer and subsequently combining with the base material, preferably infiltrating the base material into the obtained composite.
