<p>The method involves detecting an object i.e. foreign vehicle (2), in an environment of a vehicle (1). A traveling direction of the object and a distance (d) of the object to the vehicle are determined. A light distribution (LV) is adjusted as parking light or daytime running light by headlights (1.1, 1.2) during detection of the foreign vehicle and when the light distribution falls below the predetermined distance between the vehicles. Light width and radiating power of the light distribution are smaller than that of a headlight low beam distribution (ALV). An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a headlight for a vehicle.</p> |
