The flatbed utility vehicle has a flatbed floor (10) that provides a loading surface (11). A side wall flap (12,13) is provided for lateral load safety and is mounted at the flatbed floor in articulated manner. Another side wall flap (14,15) is mounted at the former side wall flap in articulated manner. The former side wall flap provides an additional loading surface in an unfolded state. The latter side wall flap limits an enlarged loading area in the unfolded state. An independent claim is included for a retrofitting method for flatbed utility vehicle.
