The device has a housing (1) forming a measuring chamber (2) and formed with a housing wall for attachment at timber (3). The housing is provided with an aperture only in the housing wall. A humidity sensor (4) and a temperature sensor (5) are arranged in the measuring chamber. An acoustic sensor is arranged in the chamber, and the aperture is separated from environment by a seal. Projections are formed for pressurized engagement in the timber. A portion of the housing is formed in tube-shape. The projections are arranged in thread-shape on an outer surface of the housing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a measuring arrangement (2) a method for measuring humidity of timber.
