<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore a high-beam pattern from a split-beam pattern when no preceding vehicle has been detected, while reducing a sense of incongruity. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle light distribution control device selects one of light patterns, high-beam pattern, low-beam pattern and split-beam pattern, and includes a lighting device whose light axis is controlled and a control device. The control device selects the split-beam pattern when detecting a preceding vehicle, and controls the position of a cut-off line of the split-beam pattern so as not to irradiate the vehicle with the light. The control device maintains the split-beam pattern while controlling the position of the cut-off line of the split-beam pattern so as to gradually reduce a shielding area of the split-beam pattern, and selects the high-beam pattern from the split-beam pattern when the shielding area is reduced to a predetermined reference or smaller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
