<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide anti-Factor D antibodies which are useful for the therapy of complement-mediated disorders. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides antibodies comprising the heavy and light chain variable domain sequences of murine antibody 166-32, being capable of inhibiting biological activity associated with Factor D. In the other embodiments, the invention provides compositions comprising the antibody, cell lines and vectors harboring the antibody sequences, and methods for making and using the antibodies and compositions.
