<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharging apparatus for a vehicle capable of arbitrarily increasing exhaust energy which is supplied to a turbine impeller. <P>SOLUTION: An electric heater 14 is provided within a first exhaust scroll 21 (small volume side), and is energized when the exhaust energy is decreased and an engine load is increased. Thus, the exhaust energy supplied to the turbine impeller 11 is increased, a boost pressure is increased, the output torque of an engine can be increased, so that its fuel consumption and drivability can be improved. The distance between the electric heater 14 and the turbine impeller 11 can be shortened, the length of time between the start of energization of the electric heater 14 and the increase of the boost pressure can be minimized, and its heat loss can be suppressed. The electric heater 14 is provided only within the first exhaust scroll 21, so it can be downsized and its power consumption can be reduced. Further, the energization period of the electric heater 14 can be limited only to a required time, and thereby the power consumption can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
