<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation sterilization method for sterilizing a sleeve in a short time, preventing a color change of a packaging material, in particular, a polyethylene film after the sterilization caused by the oxidation deterioration and reducing odor generation. <P>SOLUTION: In the sterilizing method of a sealed paper container for liquid, a blank is formed of a laminated body using a paperboard as a base material layer, and the folded sleeve is formed of the blank by bonding a back seal. Next, a square cylindrical sleeve is formed. A bottom of the square cylindrical sleeve is molded to form a paper container. A plug is fitted to the paper container to form a paper container with the plug. An inner face of the paper container with the plug is sterilized by hydrogen peroxide. The sterile filling of sterilized liquid food in the paper container with the plug is performed. The plurality of sleeves are sealed in a packaging bag, and an oxygen concentration of air in the packaging bag is controlled to 5% or lower.
