<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guidance system for a missile including a laser oscillation section and a receive section, which is capable of separating a target and background highly precisely, locating the target hidden behind a shield, preventing mistracking to the background, and guiding to the target precisely. <P>SOLUTION: A scanning zone including the target is irradiated with laser beams. The intensity image and three-dimensional image of the scanning zone are generated by detecting reflected light and using the reception strength of the reflected light and the delay time till the receipt of the light. Based on the three-dimensional images obtained, the standard deviation of the altitude level for each position of the scanning zone is calculated, and judgment is made whether it is a planar domain or non-planar domain. The recognition probability of the target is improved by performing target recognition processing for a non-judgment domain combining the intensity image and the three-dimensional image, thereby separating the target from the background. Furthermore, gate time is set according to the distance to the target, using the planar domain in the background region as a standard; while the target hidden behind the shield is located on the baseis of reflected light received during the gate time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
