MATERIAL FOR APPLICATION TO AN ANIMAL HOOF

The invention relates to a material, and method of manufacture of the material, which can be applied to the hoof or frog of a horse to provide a protective effect of killing microbes which may be present already and/or limiting the tendency for the growth of microbes thereon. The material includes silver ions therein and the material includes wax and oil to allow the application of the material in an efficient manner whilst ensuring that the silver ions remain in a substantially uniform spacing throughout the material.
