A pharmaceutical composition containing Araneus ventricosus extract is provided to suppress the metastasis of cancer cell or the expression of gene which is necessary in hepatitis B virus proliferation. A pharmaceutical composition for suppressing metastasis or proliferating immune cell comprises Araneus ventricosus extract as an active ingredient. A method for manufacturing the Araneus ventricosus extract comprises: a step of steaming alive Araneus ventricosus at 90~100°C for 30 minutes to 10 hours, drying and pulverizing; a step of roasting the pulverized Araneus ventricosus at 100~170°C for five minutes to one hour; a step of adding water, low alcohol of C1-C4 or their mixture solvent and extracting for one to ten hours; and a step of filtering with Whattman filter paper and freeze-drying. |
