<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variation in hole area ratio among sub-pixels for improvement of brightness in a liquid crystal display panel having four sub-pixels in one pixel. <P>SOLUTION: A color filter layer includes a first filter 21A, a second filter 21B, and a third filter 21C mutually different by colors. Further, the color filter layer includes a fourth filter 21D having the same color as one of the filters, and a black matrix 22 demarcating four filters. The fourth filter 21D has holes 23 formed therein.
