<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external environment recognizing device for a vehicle that can correctly detect a preceding vehicle in a situation, such as at dusk, which is under an illumination condition different from that in the daytime. <P>SOLUTION: The device detects a vehicle external shape as well as vehicle taillights, and determines a synchronized movement of a vehicle external shape and vehicle taillights to be a vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
