<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a radio communication apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A radio communication system includes: a division section 1, a generation section 2, a transmission section 3, a reception section 4 and a detection section 5. The division section 1 divides data into a plurality of code blocks. The generation section 2 generates error detection information about each code block. The transmission section 3 transmits the code blocks by radio via a first channel. The transmission section 3 transmits the error detection information by radio via a second channel. The reception section 4 receives the code blocks and error detection information transmitted by radio. The detection section 5 performs error detection on each code block received by the reception section 4 by using the error detection information received by the reception section 4.
