<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a cold tandem mill which keeps a speed ratio between stands constant when starting a mill, and thereby surely preventing strip breakage and the off-gauge of a product when starting the mills. <P>SOLUTION: The cold tandem mill includes a first stand and a second stand adjacent to the first stand, and each of the stands includes the mill 1, a motor 3 for driving the mill 1 and a driving device 4 provided with a drooping control function for controlling the motor 3. This control device for the cold tandem mill includes a setting calculating device 6 and a controller 5. The setting calculating device 6 calculates setup load and the reference of setup speed for each mill 1. The controller 5 calculates the reference of speed for output to each driving device 4 so that the speed ratio of the motors 3 of the first and the second stands coincides with the ratio of the reference of setup speed of the first and the second stands, which are calculated with the setting calculating device 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
