The traveling control device predicts a "road group" of the road on which an own vehicle travels on the basis of the above information and road type information obtained from a navigation device 2 to estimate design speed determined in advance for the "road group" (step S1-S5), acquires road gradient and road curve radius information from the navigation device 2 to estimate the design speed determined in advance for the road gradient and the road curve radius of the road on which the own vehicle travels (step S6, S7), and estimates the design speed of the road on which the own vehicle travels from the design speed estimated on the basis of the "road group", the road gradient and the road curve radius to be determined as an estimated speed limit of the road on which the own vehicle travels (step S8). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
