<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing a polyuronic acid or its salt by a method with a less environmental load, suppressing the decrease in degrees of polymerization, and a method for manufacturing a water-absorbing resin by crosslinking the polyuronic acid or its salt. <P>SOLUTION: [1] The method for manufacturing the polyuronic acid or its salt has (1) a process for grinding a cellulose-containing raw material in the coexistence of an oxidized sugar having a polymerization degree of 1-10 to obtain a low-crystallinity cellulose-containing raw material, and (2) a process for oxidizing the obtained low-crystallinity cellulose-containing raw material under a neutral or acidic condition to manufacture the polyuronic acid or its salt, and [2] the method for manufacturing the water-absorbing resin includes adding a crosslinking agent to the polyuronic acid or its salt manufactured by the method to induce a crosslinking reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
