<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for joining wooden members, which allows the wooden members to be reliably joined to each other; a structural wooden building material; and a junction construction method. <P>SOLUTION: Wooden members having parallel joining grooves 3 arranged at intervals are overlapped to each other so as to form closed joining holes 9 from the joining grooves 3 opposite to each other, respectively. A wooden joining member 10 having engaging protrusions 19, which is symmetric about the overlapping plane 2, with a thick portion at the back part of the joining groove 3 along the joining groove 3 at each of the closed joining holes 9 is inserted in the closed joining hole 9 so as to form a structure for joining wooden members to each other. The wooden joining member 10 has at least a pair of inclined planes 17 for a wedge at the back face side. A wedge device 12 extending in the longitudinal direction of the groove of each of the wooden members 1 provides pressing force.
