Provided is a capsule-type endoscope system etc. which enables a user to visually and easily grasp the direction of progression and orientation represented by images captured by a pantoscopic capsule-type endoscope. This capsule-type endoscope system, which is provided with a capsule-type endoscope having first and second imaging units, and an image display device (5) for displaying images captured by the first and second imaging units, is provided with: a control unit (56) that determines the direction of progression of the capsule-type endoscope during imaging, and identifies the imaging unit which is facing the direction of progression of the capsule-type endoscope during imaging; and a display control unit (57) that generates a picture containing a first display region in which images on the direction of progression side of the capsule-type endoscope are positioned, and a second display region in which images on the opposite side to the direction of progression are positioned. The display control unit (57) positions the images captured by the imaging unit identified by the control unit (56) in the first display region, and positions the images captured by the other imaging unit in the second display region.
