A piezoelectric excitor provided with a cantilevered beam, wherein a desired vibration characteristic can be ensured without abnormalities arising when used while attached to an excitation panel. A base plate (40) is fixed to a beam support member (30), which supports a beam (20) in a cantilevered fashion, in a manner such that the base plate is in contact with a lower surface of the beam support member. When doing so, the base plate (40) is formed so as to have a substantially U-shaped cross-sectional shape provided with a left/right pair of lateral surface walls (44) that stand on the left and right sides of the beam support member (30), and so as to extend towards the free end of the beam (20) as far as the midway position thereof, while maintaining the cross-sectional shape. This configuration prevents the focusing of stress on the free end of the base plate (40) even if the vibrational force increases, and at the same time reduces the likelihood that the free end of the beam (20) will come into contact with the base plate (40) and eliminates the possibility of discomfort arising when an excitation panel (2) is pressed or the possibility of the base plate (40) separating.
