<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination apparatus and a fan unit used for the illumination apparatus, capable of separating an intake air and an exhaust air by separately arranging an air intake port and an air exhaust port and utilizing an air for cooling by always sucking the cold air for cooling by always sucking cold air and enhancing a heat radiation effect of a fan. <P>SOLUTION: In the illumination apparatus, a heat sink 130 prepares the fan unit 140 at a location (eccentric location ) shifted from the center of the heat sink 130, and has an air intake port 131 for sucking air to the fan unit 140 and an air exhaust port 132 for discharging wind blown to the heat sink 130 on the same plane.
