<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively recognize a parking frame by increasing a parking area capable of recognizing the parking frame, by dispensing with a parking area side communication facility for transmitting a shape of the parking frame 12 drawn on the parking area to a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This recognizing device 2 of the parking frame selects any of shapes of a plurality of parking frames based on operation of a user, and also recognizes the parking frame 12 in an image of indicating a vehicle external part based on the shape of the selected parking frame. When the recognizing device 2 of the parking frame recognizes the parking frame 12, a parking support system 100 guides the vehicle 1 to a parking area PA partitioned by the parking frame 12, and supports parking. Thus, the parking area side communication facility for transmitting the shape of the parking frame 12 drawn on the parking area to the vehicle can be obviated.
