PURPOSE: A bumper back beam for a vehicle is provided to improve the resistance against bending load by keeping the high inertia moment in comparison with the area of cross section by forming reinforcing parts on inner and outer surfaces of a horizontal rib. CONSTITUTION: A bumper system for a vehicle comprises a bumper cover, an energy absorber, a bumper back beam(30), a stay, and a side member. The energy absorber absorbs shock energy applied through the bumper cover. The bumper back beam comprises vertical and horizontal ribs(35,36) and a bent end portion(39). The vertical and horizontal ribs are integratedly connected. The bent end portion is bent toward the outside from both ends of the horizontal rib. The stay and the side member connect the bumper back beam to a vehicle body. Inner and outer reinforcing parts(37,38) are extended on the inner and outer surfaces of each horizontal rib of the bumper back beam. |
