<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope that has a moderate friction coefficient and is easy to handle, and further has a high tensile strength. <P>SOLUTION: The rope is made using a plurality of strands 2 obtained by making an outer skin part of the strand 2 using a plurality of yarns 3 in which ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibers 4a and polyester fibers 4b are mixed and twisted, and making an inner core part of the strand 2 using a yarn 3 including only ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibers 4a. The polyester fiber is mixed in a ratio of 3%-50%. The polyester fiber has a higher friction coefficient than the ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibers, and therefore, the rope in which the polyester fibers are mixed and twisted has a higher friction coefficient than the rope including only ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibers. Thus, the rope is resistant to slip and makes operations such as tight-tying easy. In addition, as the rope includes ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibers, it has a high tensile strength. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
