<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor including a movable element improving heat radiation effect from a surface while reducing the size and the weight of the entire movable element. <P>SOLUTION: A linear motor according to this invention includes: a stator 2 where permanent magnets 3 having different magnetic poles are alternately arranged; and a movable element 20 disposed facing the stator 2 and conducting linear motion along the x axis. In a mold member 21 which is included in the movable element 20 and has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape, corners where a front surface 22 and a rear surface 23 intersect with side surfaces 24, 25 are formed into curved shapes.
