<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a fiber and a method for subsequent drying at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a method and an apparatus for treating a textile material 2. A treating agent is coated on the textile material 2, and the textile material 2 is dried on at least one heating cylinder 4, 5. In order for that, the textile material 2 disposed on the heating cylinder 4, 5 is subjected to an airflow, and the textile material is guided through a turning mechanism 6 at an upstream side of the heating cylinder 4, 5.
