<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus, in particular a portable telephone, which adopts means easing luminance differences due to illumination unevenness and locations for a given arrangement of a light source such as an LED in the illumination of the electronic apparatus, and to provide an illumination method of the electronic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus is composed of a first housing and a second housing, and the first housing is composed of at least a substrate where light emitting means is installed and a first case body and a second case body which are formed so as to sandwich the substrate. Further, an LCD unit and a screen are installed in the first case body, and a rear surface panel is installed in the second case body. The second case body is a transparent body formed by a transmissive member, is disposed facing a substrate surface on which the light emitting means is disposed so as to face the light emitting means on the substrate. A peripheral part of the second case body protrudes to the outer side of the electronic apparatus and has a protruding shape exposed from the electronic apparatus.
