The purpose of the present invention is to provide a light emission device in which light can be evenly emitted, even when an LED element is used as the light source. This invention is provided with: a long heat-radiating member (2); a light-emitting body (3) for forming a linear light source along the longitudinal direction of the heat-radiating member (2), the light-emitting body being mounted in the center in the width direction of the heat-radiating member (2), the light-emitting body including a first-conductivity-type first semiconductor layer (33), a light-emitting layer (34), and a second-conductivity-type second semiconductor layer (35), and the light-emitting body being provided with a pair of electrodes (37) of the first semiconductor layer (35) on the outside of the heat-radiating member (2) in the width direction; and a lens (4) covering the light-emitting body (3) on the heat-radiating member (2). The light emission device is configured so that sufficient light is also emitted in the lateral direction from the light-emitting body (3), and so that light is uniformly incident on the inner surface of the lens (4). |
