The bus interface comprises a checksum generator for generating a dynamically changing checksum (P) such as a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) checksum which is output together with a secure switching signal or secure data (D) that is output by a safety sensor (1) of the actuator sensor interface (AS-i)(RTM: Special system cable) bus system. The master in the AS-i bus system queries all the slave sensors by sending a telegram within a bus cycle, while the slave sends a response by sending a telegram, for summarizing the secure switching signal and the checksum.
