<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a halftone processing of run length (RL) encoded datastreams effective for a printing system. <P>SOLUTION: As one feature of this invention, a print controller includes: an identification system for identifying a first packet within a run length (RL) encoded datastream, in which the first packet comprises a first header and a first bitmap data block defined by the first header, and the first bitmap data block comprises continuous tone data; and a control system for identifying a conversion value array for converting RL encoded data to halftone data, indexing the conversion value array using one or more bytes of the first bitmap data block, and outputting the halftone data from the conversion value array on the basis of the index in order to convert the RL encoded continuous tone data of the first packet to the halftone data for a print engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
