<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connection member which is capable of efficiently connecting a multi-core fiber having a plurality of cores and a plurality of single-core fibers with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An optical connection member 1 achieves optical connection between a multi-core fiber MCF 2 and a plurality of single-core fibers SCF 3 with waveguide portions 12 connecting a first end surface 13a and a second end surface 14a. In each of the waveguide portions 12 in the optical connection member 1, a connection end 12A to the first end surface 13a is a linear portion orthogonal to the first end surface 13a, and a branch end 12B to the second end surface 14a is a linear portion orthogonal to the second end surface 14a. Therefore, light passing the waveguide portions 12 is emitted from the first end surface 13a and the second end surface 14a substantially vertically to them, so that the connection loss of light can be preferably suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
