<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of estimating torque of a vehicle three-phase driving motor powered by a power converter, where three phase lines lead power from the power converter to the driving motor to securely estimate the torque of the vehicle driving motor. <P>SOLUTION: Currents i1, i2, i3 are measured in at least two of three phase lines 6, 7, 8, respectively, and voltages u1, u2, u3 are measured in the three phase lines 6, 7, 8, respectively. A rotating magnetic field frequency is determined from the measured currents or the measured voltages.
