<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckling restrained brace which has a simple structure and high productivity, achieving reduced cost of a product. <P>SOLUTION: A buckling restrained brace 8 includes a core material 9 having a joint part 9a which bears the axial force, and a sleeve-shaped stiffener 3 having an end opening 3a for projecting the joint part which encloses the core material 9, so that the buckling of the core material is restrained with the stiffener. The buckling restrained brace 8 comprises: a granular or powdery filler 4 which allows the inside of the stiffener to be filled therewith and transfers stress acting in the directions other than the axial direction of the stress generated in the core material to the stiffener, forming voids among the filler in contact with each other; a blockade member 6 which has a through part 6a which allows the joint part to movably pass therethrough in the axial direction of the core material and is joined to the end opening of the stiffener so as to blockade the opening; and an elastic seal material 7 which is arranged at the through part so as to prevent the filler from leaking out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
