The pump (1) has an impeller (3) arranged on a pump shaft (2). An adjustable slider (4) is displaced over the impeller and regulates flow rate of the pump. A peripheral pump wheel of a peripheral pump (6) is provided for building a fluid pressure. The peripheral pump wheel is arranged on the pump shaft. A valve device (7) connects or separates a suction side and a pressure side of the peripheral pump, where the fluid pressure is controlled for adjusting the slider.
