<p>The watercraft has a rudder comprising a rudder shaft that is connected to a rudder blade. A rudder controller acts on the rudder. A gas-filled cavity i.e. air-filled cavity, is formed in or on a bearing overlapped on the rudder shaft. A detection unit is connected with the controller, and detects a geometric change of the cavity due to loads acting on the rudder. The controller is operatively arranged on the rudder under consideration of the geometric change of the cavity. The detection unit is designed as an optical fiber cable, a photo-sensitive element, strain gauge or inductive sensor.</p> |
